Sporting Nebraska Girls' program is going into their third year with the ECNL Regional League. We are a part of the Heartland Conference which plays teams from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Nebraska. Heartland is broken up into two divisions during the regular season, the North and South Division. The U13 & U14 teams will play a fall and a spring season, while the U15-U18/19 will play in just the fall season due to high school soccer. Teams compete for a playoff opportunity in June to advance to the ECNL Regional League Finals.

During the season the teams will have opportunities to travel to ECNL-RL showcases in addition to their league schedule.

The Breakdown: 

​

U13-U19 ECNL-RL Girls Schedule:

  • 3 training sessions a week, fall and spring at Millard Star

  • 30 indoor training sessions, winter and as needed at Omaha Sports Complex

  • Warren Academy (two six-week programs) - strength and agility

  • 2 leagues per season: ECNL Heartland Regional League & NYSL 

  • 2-3 tournaments per season, including State Cup

What is ECNL? 

The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is a US Club Soccer-sanctioned league founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of the female youth soccer players in the United States through:

​

  • Improving the competitive environment through the creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights;

  • Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for U.S. Soccer’s Youth National Teams by way of a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions; and

  • Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.

 

The goal of the ECNL is to change the landscape for elite female soccer players in the United States with innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and club development model.

In an effort to provide competition and development opportunities for a deeper player pool, the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) started to expand their footprint by creating the ECNL Regional League in the 2019-20 season.  The ECNL Regional League provides great competition within a professional environment.

​

The ECNL Regional League teams travel for league games and compete in the exact same structure as the Girls ECNL Texas Conference. The ECNL Regional League provides a tremendous opportunity for players to develop their skills, compete against a very high level of competition, and prepares themselves for the collegiate competition in the future.
