Hello coaches and teams,

Sporting Nebraska FC wanted to reach out to all of you to let you know that we have made the decision to put the Cornhusker Classic Labor Day weekend tournament on hold for the 2023 season. Our tournament is one of the longest running and largest tournaments in the state of Nebraska. For over 20+ years the Cornhusker Classic held the reputation as the “go to” Labor Day tournament in the area.

This decision was made based on the current field situation in the Omaha area. The city’s announcement to revamp the Tranquility Soccer Complex brings exciting news for our future. The club feels that with the growing drive to better the community’s youth sporting facilities, the Omaha area will once again be one of the top destinations for sporting events, like the Labor Day tournament.

 

The Cornhusker Classic holds a special place in the club, and with all the great things coming to Omaha, it will soon be back and better than ever. SNFC wants to thank all the teams for their years of commitment to the tournament. The best is yet to come.
