THE ACADEMY - A TOTAL TEACHING ENVIRONMENT

The ultimate purpose of the Sporting Nebraska FC Academy Program is to utilize a long-term, player-centered developmental structure, which is based on a coaching curriculum. The program will help enhance and increase the growth and development of each player.

 

The Academy program is designed to promote fun, efficient, and educational training sessions that will motivate and challenge each player, while developing within his or her own ability level. The Sporting Nebraska FC program objectives are to: 1) develop the basic fundamentals of the game (passing, receiving, 1v1 skills, ball mastery); and 2) promote creative and thoughtful players. Coaches in the Academy program are instructed to focus and teach the fundamentals of the game.

Our development program for players U4-U10 is for players new to soccer that are looking for a structured training environment. Sporting Nebraska (LNK) offers quality skills based training that is age appropriate and fun. Our development program teaches basic soccer skills through our training and games, using the thought process of Long Term Development (LTD). Long Term development is the key to developing players skills at these ages, so they can move up through the tiers of the Sporting Nebraska Pathway as they get older. Training sessions are 60-75 minutes for all Youth Academy teams. 

 

This will include Physical development, Psychological self-worth, and Social development.

  • Meaningful playing time in games is a priority at this age.

  • Players will be exposed to all positions in the game of soccer (Forward, Midfield, Defense, & Goalkeeper).

  • Cost:

    • U7 Boys & Girls Pre-Academy: $425 per year

    • U8 Boys & Girls Academy: $800 per year

    • U9-U10 Boys & Girls Academy: $900 per year

Fall 2022/Spring 2023

U7 Pre-Academy
SNFC (LNK) plays formats implemented by US Youth and Nebraska Soccer which is 4v4 for U7. U7 - All players born in 2016.
 

What is included in Registration Fee?

  • NYSL League Play (Fall and Spring). Teams will play 5v5

  • 1 training per week

  • 1 training per week (Winter Indoor)


What is not included in Registration Fee?

  • Uniform Cost

  • Tournaments

  • Winter Futsal (Either played in Lincoln, Gretna, or Omaha)

  • Winter Indoor Leagues


Teams may elect to collect team fees to cover tournaments and winter indoor leagues.

U8/9/10 Academy

The Academy program is an accelerated technical program designed for players in the U8, U9, & U10 age groups that are beginning to seek the highest level of training and competition. The academy teams will train in the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons and will evolve into the select programs, using the LTD (Long Term Development) mentioned above. 


The U9/10 academy games are scheduled with NYSL (Nebraska Youth Soccer League), which is a travelling league. There are approximately 6-10 games per season depending on the number of teams in the league. Roughly 50-60% of the games are played locally, and the remainder is played in the Omaha area. 

The U7/8 boys and girls academy teams will participate in the NYSL U8 and U7 leagues in Fall of 2021, along with potential in house matches vs each other.

All Academy teams are a year long commitment. Your fees include all games and twice a week training (once per week for U7).

U9 and U10 teams will participate in at least one tournament during each season (Fall and Spring) for a total of two.


At this age, training sessions are built around the constant development of the skills and techniques upon which the game is built, and the application of those skills in a game environment.
