In August 2013, during the Academy Affiliate Weekend, the Sporting Club Network named the very first Academy Affiliate All-Star Team, with representatives from over seven different cities throughout the Midwest. During their time in Kansas City, this select group of young players received training from SKC senior team coaches, at the team's training facility, and competed in an exhibition game against Sporting KC's very own U14 Academy team.

With the success of the first Academy Affiliate All-Star Team, the program has been expanded. In 2015, the Sporting Club Network hosted two Academy Affiliate All-Star Experiences, one in March, and one in August during the 2015 Academy Affiliate Weekend, this time including even more age groups and teams.
Each of our Academy Affiliate clubs has the opportunity to send their top U12 and U14 players to Sporting Kansas City's official training facility, Swope Soccer Village, to participate in this All-Star Experience. This experience consists of a full weekend of events including training sessions with members of Sporting KC's technical staff, facility tours, attending a Sporting Kansas City match at Sporting Park, and the opportunity to compete in an All-Star exhibition match versus Sporting Kansas City's Academy teams.
During the same weekend Sporting held their Academy Affiliate Friendlies where each affiliate can send teams to KC for a preseason friendly tournament.
