Heading to Nationals - Part 3, The Day Before...

July 24, 2017

Our Sporting Omaha FC players started their journey down to Texas the past couple of days. Taking in the sites and events going on before the games begin.

Ninety-six teams from across the country are competing for national crowns in the 13U through 19/20U Boys and Girls age groups at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, and the week of competition began by honoring their accomplishments to this point.

Today was the Player Luncheon, the official kick off to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships. The players watched a highlight video tracking the teams’ successes at the Regional Championships and in the US Youth Soccer National League.

Round robin play begins on Tuesday, July 25th. Preliminary games continue Wednesday and Thursday. After a day off on Friday, 15U through 19/20U teams will play semifinals on the morning of Saturday, July 29, before the first champions are decided when the 13U and 14U sides compete in their final matches that night. The 15U through 19/20U National champions will be crowned on Sunday, July 30.

Live broadcasts will be available for select games during group play and semifinals, as well as all 14 National Championship finals. You can catch SOFC live:

2002 July 25th at 9am and 2000 July 26th at 11am.

The girls ended the day with a group run and prep for the big day tomorrow.

Good luck ladies, we wish you all the best and will be cheering/watching you from Omaha tomorrow!
